As you may have noticed, I love writing goals. Even more so, I love seeing good goals carried out. So why, you may ask, do I give goal setting so much attention? Well, simply it's because human beings are fickle. I'm fickle. I don't know if it's my personality or just crazed hormones. One day I'm completely motivated. The next day... well, I'm not. So every January, on a day when my thinking is clear and my emotions are in check, I set goals for the year. Goals that keep me focused on what matters. Goals that get me where I want to be. That way when the winter blues set in or the summer sun sidetracks me, I have a list that prioritizes my efforts and grounds my thoughts. These goals aren't just career driven as they once were. Now they're aimed towards building a grace-filled home and a Christ-centered life.
So if you dig deep and find you are fickle-natured like me, I challenge you to give goal setting a go! Here are five steps to help you write good goals and create a life you love:
