The mother-in-law. There are very few relationships on earth that come with so much emotional baggage — both good and bad. But I must say, this is one relationship that can be one of life’s biggest blessings, if done right. Although, I didn’t always believe this. (In fact, I’ll admit I was a bit resentful).
This week, my adventurous, lovable, little boy is turning two. It's hard to believe another year of his life has flown by just like that. In the picture above on his last birthday, Liam was only a few days away from learning how to walk by himself. Now he's racing up and down stairs, counting to ten, and cleaning up his own toys (most of time time)!
One of the reasons why I wanted to start blogging was to spend more time recording and reflecting on life's happenings. I've tried the whole journaling on paper thing several times throughout my life. Growing up, I was a bit jealous of my childhood friend as she would fill notebook upon notebook with interesting quotes and other musings. I, on the other hand, would stop journaling after a week or two, only to start over again a few months later in an entirely new notebook. For me, the hardest part of consistently writing in a physical journal is that my thoughts always run faster than my pencil can write. Conversely, I can use photos to remember and tell a story through a blog post (and hopefully spend less time doing it!).
That being said, I thought I would spend a few moments reflecting on Liam's second year of life and share a few of the highlights!
